Saratoga Shakespeare Company, celebrating 20 years and under new leadership, is accepting applications for their Summer 2020 Professional Training Program.
Accepting emerging theatre-makers enrolled in undergraduate institutions as well as post-grad and those that have taken non-traditional paths in their education. Apprenticeships and training in the areas of Directing, Acting, Tech and Design, Dramaturgy, and Arts Management and Producing within a company invested in inventive and creative safe spaces, utilizing best practices, and welcoming to all. Curated, specific summer-long curriculum, including teaching artist workshops from SSC company members. Mentor/mentee relationship with a designated SSC professional theatre practitioner. Course work in Theatre History and Dramaturgy, Acting,
Voice and Diction, Improvisation, Viewpoints, Neutral and Larval Mask, Design and Build Projects, Shakespeare Text, Scene Work, Arts Management and Producing. Tuition $950 and additional college credit available through Skidmore College. Two dedicated production projects fully realized within the PTP company with public showings will be offered. Housing and meal plans available on campus of Skidmore College.
First round of in-person auditions and interviews will take place on April 4, 2020 at Skidmore College. Also accepting video auditions and remote interviews.
