WHAT: Making Documentary Theater Together, a free workshop
WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 7–9 p.m.
WHERE: The LAVA Center, 324 Main St., Greenfield, MA
CONTACT: email@example.com or (413) 512-3063
Making Documentary Theater Together will introduce participants to a process and structure for creating documentary theater. In the session, participants will adopt a topic and quickly assemble some component parts that can be used to create documentary theatre: headlines, stories, songs, speech excerpts, etc. Then you’ll perform it! Handouts provided.
The session will be led by Jan Maher, about whose documentary Most Dangerous Women historian Howard Zinn has said, “An extraordinary assemblage of women speak about war and peace. They speak in clear and compelling language, often with song and poetry, and what they tell their audience both educates and inspires.”
FREE (donations welcome)
