Confetti Stage Presents Sarah Ruhl’s “Eurydice”

Confetti Stage Theatre will be producing Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice at the Albany Masonic Hall February 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th at 7:30 PM and February 9th and 16th at 2:00 PM.

A modern take on the Greek myth of Orpheus, Eurydice retains its themes of love, faith, and memory, but adds a feminine perspective to the ancient tale. Young lovers Eurydice and Orpheus are about to be wed when a seductive stranger informs Eurydice that he has letters for her from the Underworld. Her deceased father, it seems, was trying to contact her from beyond the grave. After the man’s unwanted advances lead to a violent altercation, Eurydice soon joins her father in the Underworld, a lonely place where memories are the most valuable and forbidden luxury. Now torn between the present and the past–the world of the living and the land of the dead–Eurydice must choose between returning to life with her betrothed Orpheus or staying with her beloved father in Hades.

Make sure to mark your calendars for this unique performance with heartbreaking performances and enthralling visual effects. Reserve your tickets and– Don’t. Look. Back.
