Circle Theatre Players Present “Church & State”

Church & State is a fast-paced drama about faith, politics and “The Twitter”.  It’s three days before Charles Whitmore’s Senate re-election and he’s decided to tell the public exactly what’s on his mind: no filter. What could possibly go wrong?
         Circle Theatre Players present Church & State by Jason Odell Williams October 4,5,10,11,12 at 8 pm and October 6th and 13th at 2:30 pm in the Fuess Performing Space at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY 43, Averill Park, New York. The building is handicap accessible and has ample parking. Prepaid tickets are $18 Adults, $10 under the age of 18.
Jason Odell Williams is an Emmy nominated writer and TV Producer. Church & State was written as the playwright’s reaction to the mass shootings that have become too frequent. The play ran Off-Broadway in 2017.  A special event for this production will be a talk back session with the 
playwright following the October 11th performance.
Director Patrick White, is also an actor, teacher, and reviewer who has directed numerous shows throughout the Capital Region.  He teaches acting classes for all levels and attends plays religiously, over 250 last year. In addition, he is a columnist on theater for The Collaborative and is a reviewer for Nippertown.   Original music is composed by Sawyer Harrington-Verb. The cast includes Paul M. Murphy as Senator Charles Whitmore, Elisa Verb as his wife, Dianne DeSantis as his campaign manager and Sam Mikit in various roles.
Circle Theatre Players is celebrating its 39th year of producing community theater.  After renovating the old town hall in Sand Lake in 2002, they expanded to become the Sand Lake Center for the Arts which also features concerts, after school programs, art galleries and theater classes.
