SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—AUG. 9, 2019—Proctors has slated three additional screenings of the documentary Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, which was scheduled to close following Wednesday’s exhibition.
“We began screening The Pieces I Am last Friday, with no knowledge that she would pass the week while it was on our screen,” says Proctors Collaborative CEO Philip Morris. “What a legend, what a loss. Not just to the literary world, but to all of us, as a nation.”
Morrison’s first play, Dreaming Emmett, was offered its world premiere in Albany, in 1986, at Capital Repertory Theatre, which is now under the umbrella of Proctors Collaborative.

Tickets, $9 General Admission; $6 Seniors, Students w/ID, for Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, 3 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14; and 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, are available at the Box Office at Proctors, 432 State Street, Schenectady; by phone at 518.346.6204; and online at proctors.org.
