Only In My Dreams Events Presents the 4th Annual Dance Party and Cabaret at the Colonial Theatre

South Egremont, MA – Celebrate Pride Month and the incredible diversity of LGBTQ culture in the Berkshires at the 4th Annual Dance Party and Cabaret on Saturday, June 8 starting at 6:00 pm. This fabulous, friendly and fierce event will take place at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield. VIP tickets (including reserved seating and a special entrance) are $50, general admission tickets are $35 and Dance only tickets (admission as of 8pm) are $25. This year we are excited to open the event to all those who are 18+.

The event kicks off with the 2nd annual Mr./Miss Berkshire Drag Pageant from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, hosted by Brita Filter – star of Shade: Queens of NYC, the hit reality show that aired on FusionTV. Contestants in the Drag Pageant will compete for an amazing prize package worth over $2,000 and the title of Mr./Miss Berkshire. This year the theme is Real Life Heroes. In that vein, we have an exciting panel of Berkshire Heroes and Heroines – Dorida Medley (Real Housewives of NYC and Berkshire resident), Jahaira DeAlto (local activist and personality), Senator Adam Hinds (Mass State Senator), Kristen van Ginhoven (WAM executive director), Nancy Nogood (drag performer and former Berkshire resident), and Gwendolyn Hampton VanSant (BRIDGE CEO). (Please note all judges are subject to change based on scheduling and we cannot guarantee anyone’s attendance)

Guests are then invited to walk the pink carpet and break in their dancing shoes with DJ Tony Cee spinning his signature mix of upbeat and eclectic beats to amazing lighting and projections by local digital artist Joe Wheaton. The Cabaret will feature special guest performers guaranteed to provide entertainment on every level, making an unforgettable party for all to celebrate and embrace diversity.

“The Berkshire LGBTQ community is made up of many people from all walks of life,” says event organizer and South Egremont resident Oskar Hallig. “We are your neighbors, co-workers and friends, so come out and show your pride. The goal of this event is for every single person to feel free to be who they are as an individual and have a fantastic time as a community.”

This year’s event is sponsored by The Bookloft, Mary Carol Rudin – Artist, Barbara and Roger Manring, Nancy and Robert Bott, Bobbie Hallig, Eleanor Tillinghast and Morgan Bulkeley, and Dr. Richard Ziter, MD and Eric Reimer.. A portion of tickets sales will be donated to Berkshire Pride, a community alliance composed of individuals representing diverse organizations and projects. Their goal is to promote LGBTQ equality via community organizing and implementing educational and support projects that empower LGBTQ people and enable a dialog about such issues in the community. Berkshire Pride’s goal is to provide a platform for individuals and community organizations to make the Berkshires an even better, more inclusive and more welcoming place to visit and live for all people.
