Berkshire Opera Festival Announces Fourth Season, Moves to the Mahaiwe

Berkshire Opera Festival announces its fourth season, featuring Donizetti’s Don Pasquale

Following its widely-acclaimed third season, BOF will present three fully-staged performances August 24, 27, and 30 at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, MA.

The crusty old bachelor Don Pasquale decides to marry a much younger wife and produce an heir to spite his nephew, Ernesto, who insists on marrying for love rather than for money. But Pasquale gets much more than he bargained for when Doctor Malatesta and Norina decide to teach him a lesson. Great fun for the whole family and performed by an internationally-renowned cast, Gaetano Donizetti’s comic masterpiece will have you roaring with laughter!

Approximate running time: 2 hours, 20 minutes with one intermission
Sung in Italian with projected English translations
