Illuminate Theater Casting Call Exclusively for Actors of Color

Illuminate Theater (as featured in the Times Union, the Alt, and seen on stages at Proctors, The Egg, and the Troy Kitchen) seeks to expand its company with 10+ actors. Illuminate, the title series, as it currently stands, is a monthly theatre production highlighting actors of color in the Capital Region.  Showcasing both published works by playwrights of color, as well as original pieces by local actors, poets, and musicians, Illuminate reflects on the experience and journey through life as a person of color. The Summer Season Auditions will be held for the following themed shows, each on the 4th Tuesday of every month:

May 22nd: My Body

June 26th: Monologue to Music

July 24th: Freedom

Illuminate strives to showcase all people of color, we will work with you whether it’s your first time on stage or your 50th. Ages 18+
please, due to mature nature of some show’s contents. Actors may audition for any and/or all upcoming shows. Please indicate at least one show you wish to participate in on the sign-up form, included below. You may add additional shows you wish to perform in at auditions. Actors should prepare a 3-5 minute monologue related to one of the three show themes. This may be original or published.

Tuesday, May 15th from 6pm-8:30pm; Saturday, May 19th from 12pm– 3pm; Friday, May 25th from 6pm-8pm
