Charles Busch Returns to Bridge Street Theatre in “My Kinda ’60s”

“Whether singing or dishing about his life or celebrities he has known, Charles Busch is always the epitome of entertainment and class.” Cabaret Scenes

He’s back! Tony nominee, Drama Desk Lifetime Achievement honoree, and two-time MAC Award winner Charles Busch returns to Catskill’s intimate Bridge Street Theatre on Saturday February 24 at 4:00pm for a special one-time-only benefit performance of his most personal cabaret show ever: “My Kinda ’60s.”

This thrilling new show, which premiered last September at Feinstein’s/54 Below in Manhattan and recently received a 2017 Broadway World Cabaret Award as “Best Show – Celebrity Male”, whisks audiences back to the Manhattan of the tumultuous 1960s. Charles interweaves personal anecdotes of a childhood and adolescence spent coming of age under the guidance of his indomitable Aunt Lillian with songs from the decade by such artists as Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, The Beatles, Henry Mancini, Bob Dylan, Stephen Sondheim, and Kander and Ebb.

Appearing with Mr. Busch in this unique, hilarious, and poignant evening of music and story-telling will be his long-time musical director/arranger Tom Judson.

“My Kinda ’60s” will be performed once only, Saturday February 24, at 4:00 in the afternoon on the Bridge Street Theatre Mainstage, located at 44 West Bridge Street in the Village of Catskill, NY. Doors will open at 3:30pm for a pre-performance “High Tea” in the theatre’s Speakeasy and the show will be followed by a champagne reception with the artists. Tickets for the general public are $60 and will be available beginning on February 5. However, if you purchase a 2018 Bridge Street Theatre Season Subscription, you’ll receive special access to pre-book $50 tickets starting on January 22. But you’d better hurry – Charles Busch’s previous appearance at Bridge Street Theatre was hopelessly sold out weeks in advance of the performance date. Season Subscriptions are available at or by calling Brown Paper Tickets at 800-838-3006.

Cabaret at Bridge Street Theatre is always an intimate and exhilarating experience. And the chance to get this up-close-and-personal with a luminary like Charles Busch is one you won’t want to pass up. For more information, visit the theatre’s website at or call their offices at 518-943-3818.
