The “Tinseliner” Returns to Berkshire Scenic Railway’s Hoosac Valley Service

November 6, 2017 – Adams, MA – The wheels are turning at Berkshire Scenic Railway’s (BSRM) Hoosac Valley Service to transform normal train service into the Tinseliner, a 1950’s American Christmas Experience. Service begins on Friday, November 24 and continues on Saturdays and Sundays only, through December 17.
unnamedFor the first time in 50 years, trains will depart from the reconstructed tracks in Adams, MA. The Adams Passenger Station is located at 3 Hoosac St. across from the Adams Visitor’s Center where parking and restrooms are available to the public during these events. Each trip lasts approximately one and a half hours and features a visit from Father Christmas who will offer a gift to every child on board. New this year is a 20-minute layover at an authentic Christmas tree lot. Passengers may disembark the train, tag a tree for later pickup, or enjoy hot beverages before the trip home. Proceeds from tree sales will go to the local, nonprofit cancer support group, PopCares.
Black Friday and Saturday trains depart at 1, 3, 5, and 7 p.m. Sunday trains depart at 1, 3, and 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for kids under 12. Children under 2 ride free provided they sit on an adult lap.
“Our holiday trains are the most popular events of the year,” states BSRM President and General Superintendent, Jay Green. “And we are very thankful to the Town of Adams for helping us prepare this year’s inaugural departures. Our all-volunteer staff and crew are looking forward to celebrating the season with our passengers.” Trains often sell out two weeks in advance. Online ticket sales are available now at
