John Kirk and Trish Miller Offer Free Concert at Greenwich Free Library

(October 2,2017) – Celebrated acoustic musicians John Kirk and Trish Miller of Quickstep will explore traditional folk music – its originals, instruments and local variations – in Fiddle Tunes, Funny Songs & Fancy Footwork, a free concert that is part of the Greenwich Free Library‘s live music series, Music is Living History. The event is slated for Saturday, October 21, 7 p.m., at the Greenwich High School Auditorium, 10 Gray Avenue, Greenwich.

Kirk and Miller ( have toured for more than three decades playing fiddle music, folk songs and performing fancy footwork for concerts, parties and dances. The pair will be joined by Amanda Muir, Rebecca Sohn and Reese Fulmer, students at Skidmore College, where Kirk and Miller both teach. The ensemble will present harmonizing fiddles, driving banjo tunes and humorous folk songs that invite audience sing-alongs. Many of these tunes are rooted in the local lore of the northeast woodlands. These humorous, original and poetic pieces make this show an entertainment suitable for all ages.
