Samantha Talora & Ron Ramsay “Once Upon a Dream” Concert Benefits Children’s Cancer Research


NORTH ADAMS, MA –   Popular Berkshire duo, Samantha Talora & Ron Ramsay present Once Upon a Dream, concert in collaboration with AYJ Fund’s programs for kids with cancer and to fund cancer research.  Music lovers of all ages welcome – perfect for fans of Disney music and other popular children’s songs. Proceeds will benefit AYJ Fund.

A meet-and-greet and photos with the princesses begins at 12:00pm, kids are welcome to dress up too. There will also be an opportunity to bid on several Chinese auction items.  At 1:00pm the concert begins with MCLA’s a cappella singing group The Allegrettos, then Talora & Ramsay, along with special guests, take the stage for an hour of beloved music suitable for all ages.

The mission of the AYJ Fund is to bring smiles to kids with cancer, to keep them connected to friends and school through technology, and to support the research of Gliomatosis Cerebri and other brain cancers. The fund is dedicated to Anna Yan Ji Arabia who bravely lived with Gliomatosis Cerebri for three and a half years, was treated with the best medical care available at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana Farber, and became and angel at 16 years old on Valentines Day 2013, filled with love and grace.

Once Upon a Dream on Saturday, October 28th at 12:00pm at MCLA’s Church Street Center located at 375 Church St., North Adams, MA.  The concert will feature beloved Disney children’s songs along with popular children’s music spanning generations.  Proceeds go directly to the programs sponsored by AYJ Fund. A chance encounter as guest artists at The Colonial Theatre brought them together in 2013. A collaboration soon followed and Samantha Talora & Ron Ramsay, inspired by their shared love of decades of Broadway music, the Great American Songbook, classic standards and contemporary & popular music, have been weaving harmonies and going strong ever since. With such performances as “Our Time”, “Cheek to Chic” and “Heart Song” they have been met with sell-out crowds and rave reviews at Whitney Center for the Arts, Ventfort Hall, Mr. Finn’s Cabaret and countless private and charitable events. Their eclectic music series, spanning a wide array of genres, has delighted audiences with special programs such as “A Sondheim Trilogy ” and “The Chairman”- a tribute to Frank Sinatra in 2015 marking his centennial birthday celebration. The summer of 2016 found Sam & Ron “riding the rails” with the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum for the Friday Night Cabaret Train series, which will continue in Summer of 2017 on Saturday evenings beginning on July 15th. These, along with their popular holiday programs for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas (and more), have quickly become the ideal destination for a romantic date night, or a fun night with family and friends. Talora’s powerfully versatile vocals along with Ramsay’s depth and experience as a veteran of the New York City night club scene infuse their performances with musical selections that allow us to rise and fall with every emotional turn they take. A Berkshire native, Ron Ramsay attended the High School for the Performing Arts in Dallas Texas and the Manhattan School of Music in NYC, making NYC his home. Classically trained, Ron crossed over to the Broadway and Cabaret scene in NYC. His cabaret nightclub acts have sold out such rooms as the Algonquin, Feinstein’s, Town Hall, Lincoln Center’s Rose Room and Judy’s Chelsea as well as venues in such locales as London, Paris and Mykonos. The New York Post raves of past performances “unusually well stocked and thoughtful, high quality songs …always a sublime Songbook”. Backstage and “one of the most well rounded and extraordinary shows in recent memory”. Ron is also currently the Director of Music Programs at St. Ann’s Church in Lenox, MA.

Samantha Talora studied theater, voice and received a B.S. in Arts Administration from Wagner College in New York. She has travelled and performed in various venues throughout the United States, including the Isaac Stern Auditorium at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. Samantha has had the pleasure of performing as a solo artist and guest artist in such local venues as The Red Lion Inn, Canyon Ranch, Kimball Farms, The Berkshire Museum, Searles Castle, The Colonial Theater and Barrington Stage Company.
