CHATHAM, NY — An extra special show has been added to The Mac-Haydn Theatre Monday night schedule: In Development, with songs from two original musicals being developed by Musical Director David Maglione will perform on Monday, August 28, at 7:30 p.m.
Wendy’s Shadow is a modern-day retelling of the mischievous and magical adventure of “Peter and Wendy”, with a contemporary folk/rock score. Book, music and lyrics are by Mr. Maglione, who has been Musical Director of several Mac-Haydn shows this summer, including Saturday Night Fever and Hello, Dolly!. Wendy’s Shadow returns to Neverland, where ‘dreams are born and time is never planned’, to ask the question “What is your wonderful thought?”
Mac-Haydn company members performing the show will include Madison Stratton (The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot) as Wendy Darling, Kelly Gabrielle Murphy (Johanna in Sweeney Todd) as Young Wendy, Alex Carr (Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Peter and Gabe Belyeu (Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sir Galahad in Spamalot) as Captain Hook. Also cast are Julie Galorenzo as Smee, Dan Macke as Curly, Dakota Dutcher as Slightly, Katie Skawski as Nibs and Megan Hasse as Tinkerbell. Jillian Zack will be Musical Director.
Fitted Up is a tale of human connection, injustice and, ultimately, freedom. The featured character, George, will be played by Mr. Maglione and Gabe Belyeu. Kelly Gabrielle Murphy, Megan Hasse, Dan Macke, and Ross Flores will be the ensemble, playing various roles in the show.
In Development performs one night only, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. This is a chance to see two new, unique shows as they are being developed for presentation. Tickets are $15.00; call 518-392-9292 or visit machaydntheatre.org for information and reservations.
