Capitol Steps Return to Cranwell in 2017

LENOX, Mass. – If you agree that laughter is still the best medicine, The Capitol Steps may be just what the doctor ordered!   This year’s show is largely based on songs from The Capitol Steps’ current album Orange is the New Barack, featuring “Tweet, Tweet,” “Wake Me Up in Mar-a-Lago” and “Putin on a Blitz” among them.

The Capitol Steps, a Washington DC-based comedy troupe that began as a group of Senate Staffers,   have elevated political satire to an art form.  Before The Daily Show, Full Frontal, and The Colbert Report, this Washington, DC-based comedy troupe gave audience laugh cramps with their bipartisan lampooning.  The Capitol Steps began in 1981 as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize their employers, and haven’t let up since.  If you’ve been keeping with the news, you know there’s no shortage of material.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican or Democrat, a snowflake or a deplorable:  neither side is safe from the group that puts the “MOCK” in Democracy!

Cranwell Spa & Golf Resort is offering this 90 minute musical from June 30 – September 1 at Cranwell’s Harvest Barn stage.  The 90-minute show will be performed nightly, excluding Tuesdays, at 8 p.m. Cranwell Spa & Golf Resort offers pre & post show dining, drinks and desserts at its Wine Spectator Award-winning restaurant, Wyndhurst, as well as casual fare at Sloane’s Restaurant and Bar. Show tickets and dinner reservations may be reserved directly by calling (413) 881-1636, or online at For more information on Capitol Steps, visit
