The Theater Barn Announces Its 2017 Season

The Theater Barn is pleased to announce their 34th Gala season opening on Friday night, June 23, 2017. The summer features 2 area premiers, lots of laughs, great music and an Agatha Christie mystery. The exciting lineup includes the following shows:

A Comedy of Tenors June 24- July 2: One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century—as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife Maria from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.

Spider’s Web July 6- July 23: Clarissa is adept at spinning tales of adventure until a murder takes place in her drawing room! Clarissa’s fast talking places her in some hair raising experiences, as she comes to learn that the facts are much more terrifying than fiction. This is one of Christie’s best with thrills and comedy that is sure to offer shocks and laughs.

Nunsense July 27- August 6: The nuns are back! Called inspired madness, this wacky and outrageous musical takes place at a fundraiser being put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God). It’s guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Godspell August 10- August 20: Our most requested show! With its messages of kindness, tolerance, and love coming vibrantly to life, this masterful retelling of the original sensation continues to touch audiences with the contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements.

Guys and Dolls August 24- September 3: Frank Loesser’s celebrated musical comedy about rolling the dice and falling in love under the bright lights of Broadway is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. It was the winner of multiple awards including Tony’s and Drama Desks when it opened in New York in 1950.

Lucky Me September 8- September 24: Sara’s having a bad week. Really Bad! The light bulbs in her apartment keep burning out; there’s a leak in the roof; the aquarium is full of dead fish; the cat’s gone AWOL. To top it off, her father—who chased off her last beau—is suspicious of Tom, their new neighbor, a TSA agent who just brought Sara home from the emergency room on New Year’s Eve.
