Minerva Cancels Huge Music and Art Fest at North Adams Noel Field

Cancelled due to Hurricane Irene

As the hurricane approached the Berkshires on Thursday, city officials cancelled this event.

Undoubtedly inspired by the success of Mass MoCA’s Solid Sound Festival this past June, the adventurous Minerva Arts Center has planned big for a home-made regional event that will feature a variety of bands and music over two days at North Adams’ Noel Field, located near the downtown on Route 8.

The announcement said that the Everything Under The Sun Music and Arts Fest is a Fundraiser/Birthday party for The Minerva Arts Center, located on Mass. Avenue in North Adams.

The dates are Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28 from 11 AM to 10 PM with no rain dates given, so presumably rain or shine.

The brief announcement went on to say that the MAC has a commitment to bring arts and culture to the Northern Berkshires and with their upcoming birthday they “are celebrating in the best way we know how.”

The two day music and arts extravaganza features a diverse mix of up-and-coming acts and established bands from all across the landscape of music.

More than 20 of the best musicians and bands from every genre, on one stage over two days to celebrate the best music that the Berkshires has to offer! Rock, Pop, Reggae, Acoustic Jam, Metal, Rap, Hip Hop, Country, and Hardcore!

To wrap up the night on Saturday the 27th we will be having a Young Adults Dance Party featuring our hip hop acts and DJ J-Real spinning the latest jams till 9:30 PM. It will be a safe fun place for young adults to gather and enjoy themselves in a DRUG and ALCOHOL FREE environment.

Welcoming family groups as well as singles, they promise lots of fun activities for kids of all ages. Things that North Adams families typically enjoy like face painting, bouncy houses, art workshops, and more.
